In these four dialogues, sometimes sweet, sometimes sexy, sometimes both, lovers explore gender, dominance and submission, arousal, and their interests in kink gear, kneeling, and penetration. May readers find them thought-provoking, heartwarming, and hot in other ways too.

Several characters, like the author of this collection, are nonbinary. All royalties will be donated to Trans Lifeline.

A few words about some of the stories contained herein, from their editor:

“Truth” was originally written for the Small Loves Queer Microfiction anthology. It’s honest and heartbreaking and hopeful. The kind of story you wish you could send back to your younger self.

“Gear Queer,” appearing in Erato: Flash Fiction, is in fact all dialogue. But it’s never hard to figure out who’s speaking as the domme and her sub thoughtfully discuss what the love for all the fetish gear is really about, and what it means for their relationship. Not only illuminating for anyone who’s wondered about why their lover might want more than their body, this piece is also sweet, funny, and dare I say hot?

With “Ones and Zeroes," also in Erato, John answered a desperate desire of mine–for some erotica featuring arousal nonconcordance. Sometimes, however badly you want your partner, your genitals don’t cooperate. And rather than viewing this as a pathetic tragedy, it seemed like an opportunity to advance a conflict: the heart of every story. Del might not be able to look at their sub’s cock for guidance, but there are other ways they can tell how much they’re admired, desired, and worshipped (not to mention a diversity of wonderful ways those feelings can be acted on).

“Out On the Inside” is a story about pegging, and D/s, and online dating, and also a love letter.

I’m very glad these stories can be shared with the world.

The author, John Theriac, passed away in the summer of 2020, but some of his stories were accepted to anthologies and published posthumously. His loved ones, including me, have worked to publish the rest.
